Long-Term Preservation Greases
Long-term corrosion protection for storage, export and machinery conservation
Preservation greases and compounds for protecting metal surfaces during prolonged storage, sea transport and machinery export. Two main families: high-adhesion technical petrolates (soft film, solvent-removable) and calcium sulphonate complex hard-film greases (2–5 year outdoor protection). Protect against moisture, chlorides and industrial atmospheres. Required by MIL-C-11796, DEF STAN 05-050 (naval and defence) and machinery export packaging standards (ISPM 15, ECMA). Application by brush, roller, hot gun or dipping.
